Grand Sacristan of the Cathedral organizes the ceremonial-ritual life of the Mayravank. Grand Sacristan of the Cathedral is responsible for overseeing the internal and external decoration of the temple, preparing and carrying out the ritual ceremonies taking place in the Mother Cathedral. Grand Sacristan of the Cathedral organizes not only the weekly rituals, the Divine Liturgies, but also the most important ceremonies for the church, such as the Blessing of the Holy Muron, ordinations, etc. Grand Sacristan is also responsible for the dishes and costumes of the Mother Cathedral.
The St. John the Baptist and St. Vardan Chapel-baptistery of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin also operates under the jurisdiction of the Grand Sacristan of the Cathedral.
