The construction of the center started in June 2011. The architects of the building are A. Nazaretyan and A. Sahakyan, the sponsors are Hayk and Elsa Titizyan, who live in London.
On September 28, 2015, under the patronage of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; the "Garegin I" educational center was opened. In 2018, with the blessing of His Holiness, this center bearing the name of Patriarch Karekin I, since February, the three-week Priest Accelerated program was launched, which is participated by clergymen from the dioceses of Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora.
In 2017, according to the results of the "Project of the Year and Structure of the Year" annual competition, the center won the 1st place in the "Architectural Realized Structure" category.
