The St. Vardan and St. John the Baptist Chapel-baptistery was consecrated on September 26, 2008 by His Holiness Karekin II Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians. The Chapel was built through the generosity of Mr. Armen Sarkissian and his wife Dr. Karine Sarkissian, and serves as a Baptistery for the Mother See. The architect is Jim Torossian; the construction works were carried out by "Horizon 95" company. It is located on the north side of the Cathedral and is built of pink and gray tuff.
