Coordinating Committee Holds Session on Mother Cathedral Re-consecration and Holy Muron Blessing

On August 29, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; the regular session of the Coordinating Committee was convened within the framework of the re-consecration of the Mother Cathedral and the Blessing of the Holy Muron ceremonies.
In order to properly organize the work of the aforementioned ceremonies, under the chairmanship of His Holiness, a Coordinating Committee has been established since last year, which is chaired by His Eminence Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan, Chancellor of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
There are 5 sub-committees within the Coordinating Committee: Ceremonial, Ritual, Informational, Technical support, Publications and events organization, which carry out the relevant organizational activities of the September events with a pre-prepared action plan.
The program of ceremonies was drawn up by the Coordinating Committee, according to which the main ceremonies will take place according to the following schedule:
1. On September 28, at 5:00 p.m., the ceremony of blessing of the Holy Muron in the St. Trdat Open Air Altar of the Mother See.
2. On September 29, at 10:30 a. m., the re-consecration ceremony of the Mother Cathedral.
Major events will be widely covered by both local and international media. The ceremonies of re-consecration of the Mother Cathedral and blessing of the Holy Muron will be broadcast live.
