Catholicos of All Armenians Welcomes Diasporan Youth Participating in AGBU Programs

On June 25, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received a group of Diasporan Armenian youth at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. The group is participating in the Yerevan-based programs of the Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU): Global Leadership and Discover Armenia. The youth were accompanied by Mr. Vasken Yacoubian, President of AGBU Armenia and a member of the AGBU Central Board.
A total of 64 young Armenians from the Diaspora arrived in Armenia through these AGBU initiatives, designed to strengthen their connection to the Homeland’s historical, cultural, and spiritual legacy.
During the meeting, His Holiness offered his patriarchal blessing to the youth and commended AGBU’s contributions to education, culture, and national awareness. He emphasized the importance of such programs in bringing together young people raised abroad in Armenia, helping them deepen their understanding of their ancestral land and engage more actively with contemporary Armenian life.
His Holiness urged the participants to be proud bearers of their national identity, to cherish their love for the Homeland, and to play a role in strengthening their communities and contributing to Armenia’s prosperity.
He also encouraged them to remain actively involved in the national and ecclesiastical life of the Armenian people upon returning to their respective communities.
