Catholicos of All Armenians Receives Senior Lieutenant Sarkis Gabrielian

On October 10, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received Senior Lieutenant Sarkis Gabrielian in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Sr. Lieutenant Gabrielian was seriously wounded during a provocation at the Karabakh-Azerbaijan line of contact, that was initiated by Azerbaijan on March 2015. He was accompanied by His Grace Bishop Vrtanes Abrahmayan, spiritual Primate of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, and Rev. Fr. Movses Sargsyan, Armenian spiritual pastor of India.
The officer, through the initiative and support of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Church Committee of the Armenian Holy Church of Nazareth of Calcutta, received necessary medical treatment in India and had recently returned to the Homeland.
His Holiness conveyed his gratitude and blessings to the Sr. Lieutenant for his valiant service, and with deep regret referred to the officer’s wounding and expressed hope that he will continue to serve the Homeland and the Armenian nation with the same spirit.
Sr. Lieutenant Gabrielian expressed gratitude for the caring attitude by the Catholicos of All Armenians and the Church Committee of the Holy Church of Nazareth.
His Holiness offered his prayers to the Almighty and asked that God keep the brave Armenian under his lasting blessings and that he lives his life filled with benevolent and beautiful accomplishments.
At the conclusion, the Armenian Pontiff also expressed his wish that God keep the Homeland borders in peace and that hereinafter such painful incidents will not reoccur in life.
