On July 10, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, welcomed more than 30 pilgrims of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of the USA, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. They were accompanied by Rev. Fr. Vasken Kuzuyan, spiritual pastor of the St. Trinity Church of Boston and Rev. Fr. Thaddeus Barseghyan, spiritual pastor of St. Sahak Church of Minnesota.

During the meeting, His Holiness welcomed the pilgrims and noted with satisfaction that their presence in the Homeland, and especially in Holy Etchmiadzin, is most pleasing.

His Holiness highlighted the importance of pilgrimages to the Homeland, by Armenians dispersed throughout the Diaspora, renewing the national- religious aspirations of the Armenian people and becoming familiar with their own identity.

Conveying his Pontifical blessings to the pilgrims, His Holiness placed emphasis on their loyalty to the sacred shrines and rich national heritage.

His Holiness also recalled his pontifical visits to the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, during which the love towards the Armenian Church and the special devotion to the national-ecclesiastical life was always noticeable.

During the meeting His Holiness answered questions from the pilgrims.

At the conclusion, His Holiness offered his prayers to Almighty God, asking that He always bless and protect them, and keep them with a great awareness of love and enthusiasm.
