Catholicos of All Armenians Visits Maternity Hospitals in Yerevan and Etchmiadzin

On September 23, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians visited Maternity Hospitals in Etchmiadzin and Yerevan to convey his Pontifical blessings to newborns on the occasion of the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Armenian independence.
Accompanied by Dr. Armen Muradyan, Acting Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, His Holiness visited the national maternity hospital in Yerevan.
The Catholicos of All Armenians was greeted at the entrance of the maternity hospital by the staff, led by Dr. Razmik Abrahamyan, Director, Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Chief Obstetrician- Gynecologist at the Armenia Ministry of Health.
His Holiness first visited the neonatal department of the maternity hospital, where he offered his prayers and blessed the infants born during the jubilee days. His Holiness spoke with the young mothers, conveying to them his prayers and thankfulness. The Catholicos of All Armenians congratulated and conveyed his personal blessings to Ms. Mariam Tunyan, who gave birth to four children at the Institute of Perinatology, Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Ministry of Health of Armenia in September.
His Holiness met with Dr. Muradyan, Dr. Abrahamyan and the medical staff. His Holiness expressed his appreciation to everyone for their patriotic and dedicated service, stressing the importance of the doctor’s mission.
The Armenian Pontiff also visited the chapel in the courtyard of the hospital, where he offered prayers for the strength of the Homeland and a peaceful life for the newborns. His Holiness presented a Holy Mother of God icon as a gift to the chapel.
On the same day His Holiness also visited the Maternity ward of the Central Hospital of Etchmiadzin.
Accompanied by the chief doctor, Ms. Lilit Gasparyan, His Holiness visited the newborns and their mothers, blessed and prayed for their health and happiness. His Holiness toured the hospital and grounds.
During the visit to the hospital gifts were distributed to the newborns and their mothers by the Social Services Office of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the WCC Armenia Round Table Charitable Foundation.
His Holiness was accompanied His Eminence Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan, Vicar of the Araratian Pontifical Diocese of Yerevan; His Grace Bishop Arshak Khachatryan, Chancellor of the Mother See; Rev. Fr. Markos Mangasrayan and Dr. Karen Nazaryan, Director of the Round Table Foundation.
