His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has extended a message of congratulations to the newly elected Supreme Pontiff of Rome, Pope Leo XIV.
In the letter of felicitation, His Holiness writes in particular:
“On behalf of the clergy and faithful of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, and in Our capacity as Catholicos of All Armenians, We extend to You our heartfelt prayers and best wishes upon the occasion of Your election to the high and sacred responsibility of shepherding the millions of Catholic faithful throughout the four corners of the earth.
At this new threshold of Your ministry, We beseech the Almighty to bestow upon Your Holiness abundant strength and grace, that You may guide the Catholic Church in truth and mercy, and bear unwavering witness to the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in a world longing for peace, justice, and spiritual renewal.
We give thanks and glory to the Lord for the enduring bond of Christian love and fellowship between our two Sister Churches—a relationship that has deepened in recent decades through mutual respect, fraternal encounters, and shared testimony of faith.”
His Holiness conveyed his prayerful wishes for many years of robust health and inexhaustible spiritual strength to the Supreme Pontiff, as he leads the faithful flock entrusted to him by God.
