Defense of Doctoral Thesis at the Gevorkian Seminary 28.09.2016

On September 27, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; a defense of doctoral thesis was held in the Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

For the ecclesiastical degree of Archimandrite (Vardapet), Rev. Fr. Tachat Tsaturyan, a member of the Brotherhood of Mother See and the Armenian Spiritual Pastor of Poland; presented his thesis entitled: “Feast of the Holy Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Chris in the Armenian Church during the 4-7th centuries, according to the Armenian ecclesiastical tradition”.

His Grace Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan, Primate of the Diocese of Tavoush presided over the doctoral thesis defense committee.

The members of the review commission were His Grace Bishop Michael Ajapahyan; Primate of the Diocese of Shirak; His Grace Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, Primate of the Diocese of Aragatsotn and His Grace Bishop Gevork Saroyan, Dean of the spiritual and educational institutions of Mother See.

At the conclusion of the presentation of the thesis, the review commission accepted the defenses and approved to grant Rev. Fr. Tachat Tsaturyan the rank of Archimandrite.

With the blessing of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, Rev. Fr. Tachat Tsaturyan will receive the rank of Archimandrite (Vardapet). The service will be held in the St. Mesrop Mashtots Church of Oshakan, in the nearest future.
