Catholicos of All Armenians Receives Delegation of Save Armenia 16.10.2026

On October 16, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received a delegation of Save Armenia, led by the organization's Executive Director, Dr. Paul Murray.

His Holiness extended his blessing to the organization and expressed his appreciation for its efforts to protect the rights of the Armenians of Artsakh, secure the release of Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan, and preserve the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh.

The Catholicos of All Armenians also emphasized the importance of the organization's work in defending freedom of conscience and religion and raising issues of national concern in international forums.

Turning to initiatives that promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of cultural heritage, His Holiness commended Save Armenia for organizing the presentation of the Western Armenian translation of Antonia Arslan's novel The Book of Mush.

Recalling the rescue story of the Mush Homiliary, His Holiness emphasized that it bears witness to the Armenian people's unwavering determination to preserve their national, spiritual, and cultural heritage—a determination that remains steadfast to this day.

Dr. Paul Murray thanked the Catholicos of All Armenians for the reception and presented the organization's ongoing activities, affirming that Save Armenia would continue to support the Armenian people and the Armenian Church.

During the meeting, His Holiness also answered the guests' questions about the Armenian Church's role in providing spiritual and pastoral care to Armenians worldwide and preserving their national identity, interreligious relations, and Church–state relations.
