The official magazine of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, ‘Etchmiadzin,’ has been in continuous circulation for over 80 years. It remains committed to education, pastoral mission, and scholarly research in history, literature, and religion.

As the successor to ‘Ararat,’ which was published from 1868 to 1919, Etchmiadzin carries forward a rich tradition. Ararat ceased publication amid the deepening socio-economic crisis and the establishment of Soviet rule in Eastern Armenia.

Over the decades, the magazine’s print circulation has fluctuated, declining from 1,000 to 150 copies. During the Soviet era, its volume remained around 60 pages, but following Armenia’s independence, it expanded to approximately 160 pages.

The editorial board publishes foreign-language supplements twice a year. Notably, one edition featured a Chinese translation of the riddles of Nerses Shnorhali.
