With the donation of Iranian-Armenian Mihran Bukhanyan, it was decided to build a fountain in memory of Catholicos Mkrtich I Khrimyan. The author of the project is Areg Israelyan. The fountain-monument is obelisk-shaped, superslatz. At the top, it is crowned with a sculpture of an eagle with a bold head, the upper part of the wings shaped like a nozzle. In the composition of the monument, the idea of an iron ladle is introduced through the sculpture, which is one-piece with the composition of the fountain-monument. The message of Father Khrimyan is engraved on the front plane. The opening ceremony of the fountain-monument took place on October 12, 1982.
