“Agape” Refectory (1766)

This structure, called the historical storehouse or refectory of the Mayravank, was a part of the wall built during the reign of Simeon of Yerevan, which according to the lithographic record, was built in 1766 by Joseph, son of Voskan in memory of his family. A part of the wall and one of the pyramids have been preserved not far from the building. In the literature of the 19th and 20th centuries, the structure was presented as a pantry. The building is located on the southeast side of the printing house. During the Soviet years, it was used as a souvenir and foreign exchange shop. Since 2012, the building has been transformed into a public canteen under the name "Agape".
