The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin expresses deep concern over the public unrest caused by the latest statement of ten bishops.
The Mother See calls for prudence and restraint on the part of the Holy Fathers who have taken the initiative to convene a gathering fraught with danger. It is essential to act responsibly, safeguarding the people from destructive unrest, and to operate strictly within the Church's canonical procedures.
There is no need to exploit the sacred feelings of the faithful or to sow discord among the devout children of the Church by following a false agenda, thereby disturbing the peace and prayerful atmosphere of the spiritual center of the Armenian people.
The Mother See urges the faithful to remain calm and not to yield to the influence of such provocative statements.
