Catholicos of All Armenians Welcomes German Historian Michael Hesemann

On December 10, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received German historian Michael Hesemann at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. Mr. Hesemann arrived in Armenia to participate in the international conference entitled “Genocide: Memory, Recognition, Prevention.”
The meeting was also attended by His Grace Bishop Serovbé Isakhanyan, Primate of the German Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church.
His Holiness warmly welcomed Mr. Hesemann to the spiritual center of the Armenian people, expressing appreciation for his distinguished scholarly contributions, and emphasized that the Mother See stands ready to support initiatives aimed at the thorough study of Armenian Genocide documentation, the promotion of Christian heritage, and the dissemination of spiritual and moral values.
Catholicos Karekin II further invited Mr. Hesemann to deliver lectures to the clergy and the students of the Mother See’s spiritual and educational institutions.
The German historian expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to visit Armenia and conveyed his readiness to return and deliver lectures at the Mother See’s scientific and educational establishments.
During the meeting, the interlocutors reflected on the importance of freedom of religion and dialogue in the contemporary world, as well as the necessity of universal cooperation and the consolidation of efforts for the welfare of humanity and the establishment of peace and justice worldwide.
