Catholicos of All Armenians Received Pilgrims from Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America 08.08.2016

On August 07, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; received pilgrims from the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America. They were accompanied by Rev. Fr. Abraham Manukyan, parish priest of the Holy Martyrs Church of New York, USA.

After presenting the pilgrims to His Holiness, Fr. Abraham reflected on the primary role of the Mother See in the life of all Armenians and asked for the blessings of His Holiness. He noted that this visit was of special importance to the life of of the Holy Martyrs Armenian Church community.

 

The Catholicos of All Armenians extended His Blessings and conveyed his appreciation to the pilgrims. His Holiness noted that he was pleased to see how the clergy of the Armenian Church because of their longing and vision, lead their communities to the Homeland and its spiritual center, the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. His Holiness was gratified to note the praiseworthy service and cooperation that exist between the priests and their community members.

His Holiness spoke on the challenges faced by the Armenian Church and its people, as well the nessecity of overcoming them through joint efforts; and also reflected on the ongoing conflict in Nagorno-Kharabakh.

Stressing that at times the freedom and safety of the country is preserved through the sacrifice of the lives of young brave Armenian sons. His Holiness prayed that with God’s blessings, the Armenian lands always be safe and the Armenian people live in peace.

His Holiness expressed his appreciation for the sincere support provided to the Armenians who were injured during the four-day war in Artsakh, by the Armenian communities of the Diaspora; testifying to the fact that only through joint efforts is it possible to deal with the difficulties of life.

During the conversation they discussed issues related to the preservation of the Armenian national identity, education, upbringing of the younger generation, and the importance of their resolve.

Once again conveying His love and Blessings to the pilgrims, His Holiness asked that Heavenly God keep their devotion and faith strong, in order for the Armenian Church and Armenian life to be prosperous and vibrant.
