Catholicos of All Armenians Receives the Members of the Global Bridges International Organization

On June 14, in the Vatche and Tamar Manookian Library, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received members of the Global Bridges international organization, accompanied by Mr. Bernhard Matthias Kiesler, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Armenia.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ambassador Kiesler expressed gratitude to His Holiness for the reception, and emphasized the importance of holding the regular Global Bridges conference in Armenia, which aims to bring together young people of different nationalities, and promote the implementation of joint programs and cooperation between them.
Welcoming the guests, the Catholicos of All Armenians highlighted the cooperation of the organization members with the Armenian youth and expressed hope that the establishment of such relations will have a positive impact on regional issues and problems and aid in overcoming challenges. His Holiness, reflected on the Karabakh conflict, and stressed that Global Bridges organization, faithful to its mission, can contribute to the peaceful settlement process of the conflict; creating a dialogue between the youth of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Wishing the organization members success in their activities and mission, His Holiness stressed that with their vision of the future, the youth will be able to achieve positive results in securing welfare in the world, peaceful coexistence of peoples, and establishing of cooperation between nations and states.
During the meeting, His Holiness expressed his deepest gratitude to the German authorities and the entire nation, on the adoption of a resolution by the German Bundestag, recognizing the Armenian Genocide.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Holiness answered various questions regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the issues of national and religious minorities in Turkey and the efforts of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church to solving modern-day challenges.
The meeting was attended by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department of the Mother See.
