Catholicos of All Armenians Receives Delegation of Churches for Middle East Peace

On September 9, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received a delegation of Churches for Middle East Peace at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, Director of Ecumenical Relations of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church of America.
During the meeting, Archbishop Vicken introduced the delegation members to His Holiness and spoke about the organization’s efforts to promote peace in the Middle East and support Christian communities.
The Catholicos of All Armenians highly commended the organization’s activities, particularly its efforts to strengthen peace, protect the rights of Christian communities, and enhance cooperation among the Churches.
In his remarks, His Holiness addressed the ongoing conflicts around the world, particularly in the Middle East, and the resulting humanitarian crisis. In this context, His Holiness also raised the issues of protecting the rights of the Armenians forcibly displaced from Artsakh, securing the return of Armenian captives held in Baku, and preserving the Armenian spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh.
The Head of the Armenian Church also addressed the current challenges facing the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church and the Armenian people, expressing gratitude to the organization for its support to the Church and the Armenian people.
During the conversation, the delegation members reaffirmed their support for the Armenian Church. They expressed their readiness to continue raising awareness among American ecclesiastical and public circles about the difficulties faced by the Armenian people and the Armenian Church’s mission.
The meeting also addressed the issues of preservation of the Armenian presence and Christian heritage in the Middle East, as well as the challenges facing Armenian communities in the region.
In this regard, the importance of joint efforts by the Churches to promote peace and justice and to ensure a dignified and secure life for all peoples was emphasized.
