Congratulatory Message of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians, on the Occasion of the Feast of the Annunciation

On the occasion of the Feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Mother of God, we extend Our Patriarchal blessing and heartfelt congratulations to our devout people, both in the homeland and in the diaspora.
This grace-filled feast has been established as a day of blessing for women who await the joy of motherhood. In the churches, at the conclusion of the Holy Liturgy, a prayerful petition is offered, and expectant mothers receive a blessing accompanied by prayers asking God to grant them a life full of love, health, and happiness, as well as good and worthy children.
The faithful and virtuous example of the Most Holy Mother of God has long served as a source of inspiration for mothers. Following the radiant example of the Holy Virgin, Armenian women in difficult times, with meek and humble hearts in obedience to God’s will, overcame trials, steadfastly preserving their faith and love for Christ, and living with unwavering devotion to their people and homeland.
We pray that the Almighty Lord, through the intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God, may bless the women awaiting the joy of motherhood and grant them safe and successful childbirth.
May the Almighty God grant peace to the whole world, and preserve our homeland and all our people scattered across the globe in safety and well-being.
