Washing of the Feet Service at the Mother See

On April 2, Holy Thursday, under the presidency of His Holiness Garegin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Washing of the Feet Service was celebrated in the Cathedral of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
During the sacred ceremony, following the readings from the Holy Scriptures, the Catholicos of All Armenians blessed the water and holy oil placed on the Holy Altar.
Then, accompanied by the chanting of church hymns and following the example of the Son of God, His Holiness, kneeling, washed and anointed with holy oil the feet of the clergy and faithful of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin: Archbishop Haigazun Najarian, Hieromonk Hovannes Torgomian, Hieromonk Mashtots Mkhitaryan, Deacon Aramais Azizyan, Deacon Sergey Barseghyan, students of the Vaskenian Theological Seminary of Sevan Alen Israyelyan (E-class) and Abraham Hovannisyan (A-class), pupils of the “Eornekian” school Artashes Ghazaryan and Kamsar Martirosyan, as well as Armenian youth from various communities of Armenia and the diaspora: Vahan Sahakyan, Monte Levon and Serob Ishkhan Yegineryan, Narek Ghevondyan, David Martirosyan, Stepan Mkrtchyan, Narek Terteryan, Sargis Kocharyan, and Levon Sharoyan.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Supreme Patriarch blessed the faithful with the Guardian prayer, after which the consecrated holy oil was distributed to the faithful.
