His Holiness Karekin II Receives Newly Appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan 14.06.2016

On June 14, in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received Mr. Timur Urazaev, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Armenia.

His Holiness offered his congratulations to the newly elected Ambassador and wished him success with his mission.  His Holiness made mention of the cooperation between the two countries and added that the Armenian community in Kazakhstan makes worthy contributions to the nation by their active involvement in various sectors of the country.

His Holiness also expressed his sympathy to the people of Kazakhstan, on the occasion of the recent terrorist acts in Aktobe, whose victims were innocent civilians. In reflection on the challenges facing humanity, His Holiness stressed the importance of joint efforts of religious and political leaders, for the sake of the strengthening of spiritual and moral values and the establishment of peace.

During the meeting, His Holiness reflected on the role of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which is regularly convened in Kazakhstan through the initiative of President Nursultan Nazarbayev, noting the importance of such a coalition in the shaping of humanity's peaceful life.

Speaking on the friendship and cooperation between the two nations, Ambassador Urazaev stressed the need for strengthening the spiritual and cultural ties between the nations. The Ambassador of Kazakhstan also stressed the importance of the undertaking of joint efforts and expressed his gratitude to the Catholicos of All Armenians.
