Armenian Apostolic Holy Church Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

With the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; the Publishing Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has re-published the book entitled “ The Armenian Archimandrites of Northern Armenia and their Identity” written by 20th century well-known Caucasus expert Mr. Levon Melikhset-Beg. The book was translated from Georgian into Armenian by Hrach Bayramyan. The book was originally published in 1928 in Tbilisi.

The author researched the shared Armenian-Georgian scientific, literary and cultural interactions from the 11th to 13th centuries. It was reflected in the scientific works of the Armenian Archimandrites during the above mentioned centuries.

The survey has been unavailable to those Armenologists who do not possess Georgian language skills, whereas the translation and publication will assess the achievements of Armenian-Georgian historiography.

The book was published through the sponsorship of the Sarkis Gabrellian Fund.
