Republican Prayer and Visit to Sardarapat Memorial on Republic Day

On May 28, on the solemn occasion of Republic Day and with the blessing of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, a Republican Prayer Service was held at the Mother Cathedral of the Only-Begotten. The ceremony was presided over by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the Department of External Relations and Protocol of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
The clergy and assembled faithful offered prayers to God for the steadfastness, peace, and prosperity of Armenia.
At the conclusion of the service, Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan read a message from the Catholicos of All Armenians addressed to the entire Armenian nation on the occasion of Republic Day.
Later that day, the monastic clergy of the Mother See, led by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan, visited the Sardarapat Memorial. Accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Sion Adamyan, Primate of the Armavir Diocese, and other clergy of the diocese, they laid a wreath at the monument, praying for the repose of the souls of the brave heroes who fell in the May battles.
