Catholicos of All Armenians Receives Participants of the Annual Conference of the European Association of Judges 10.05.2025

On May 10, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received the participants of the annual conference of the European Association of Judges (EAJ) at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

Mr. Alexander Azaryan, President of the Union of Judges of the Republic of Armenia, having requested the blessing of His Holiness, introduced the visiting delegates who had arrived in Armenia from 35 European countries to attend the conference. He also presented an overview of the conference's agenda and ongoing proceedings.

His Holiness extended his patriarchal blessing and message to the guests, expressing joy at their visit to Armenia and the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

In his address, the Catholicos of All Armenians reflected on the vital role of the judiciary in upholding justice, safeguarding human rights, and defending freedoms, and stressed the need to strengthen a justice system grounded in moral values.  In this context, His Holiness exhorted the judges to take the truth of the Gospel as a guiding compass in their service, affirming that true justice springs from faith in God and is manifested through love.

Referring to the challenges facing the Armenian people, His Holiness underscored the importance of the international judicial community’s attention to the protection of the legitimate rights of the forcibly displaced Armenians of Artsakh, the sham trials carried out by Azerbaijan against Armenian captives, including prisoners of war, and the ongoing acts of destruction and appropriation of the spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh.
