It was built in 1959 as a boarding school. In the 1970s, it became a boarding school for visually impaired children. In the late 1980s (according to the decision of the RA government), it became a boarding school for children with intellectual and mental development delays.
In 2004, the educational center was reorganized into a special school where children from orphaned, single-parent and socially disadvantaged families studied. As a result of the restructuring of the schools of the Republic, the institution became public school No. 13 of Vagharshapat in 2008-2009.
According to the decision of the RA Government on August 20 in 2009, the Vagharshapat public school No. 13 was dissolved and, passing under the auspices of the Armenian Church, was reorganized as "Euornekyan College" of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, acting as a public educational institution.
