Belgian Members of Parliament Visit the Mother See

On 31 August, Mr. Paul Delvin and Mr. Zoe Zheno, Deputies of the Belgian Kingdom Parliament were received in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, Director of the External Relations and Protocol Department. They were accompanied by members of the Armenian National Committee of Europe - Mr. Gaspar Karapetyan, Chairman; and Ms. Heghine Evinyan, European Affairs Desk.
Archbishop Nathan conveyed to the guests the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; and noted that year after year the relations between Armenia and Belgium grow ever closer.
His Eminence expressed gratitude for the important contribution made by the Belgian Parliament last year for the Adoption of the resolution of the Armenian Genocide.
Archbishop Nathan presented to the guests the history of the establishment of Holy Etchmiadzin and the activity of Armenian Church in various fields. His Eminence reference programs directed towards youth education and church-building.
Archbishop Nathan answered the parliamentarians' questions, which related to the conflict in Karabakh, and the situation of Christians and especially the Armenian community in the Middle East. His Eminence conveyed information about the support programs provided by the Armenian Church to those communities and to the Syrians sheltered in Armenia.
