Catholicos of All Armenians Receives Newly Appointed Health Minister

On 03 October, Mr. Levon Altunyan, newly appointed Health Minister of the Republic of Armenia, was received by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. He was accompanied by Dr. Armen Charchyan, Executive Director of the Izmirlian Medical Center of the Mother See.
During the meeting, His Holiness congratulated the Minister on his appointment and wished him success and a fruitful mission in the complex and challenging field of health.
His Holiness expressed hope that the Minister would exert every effort towards the development of the sector and with new achievements, raise it to a new level. The Catholicos of All Armenians stressed that the Armenian Church, along with its dioceses around the world, will continue to support the effectiveness of the health industry.
Minister Altunyan presented his vision of development of the sector and his thoughts on overcoming existing problems, giving his assurance that he will exert all efforts in his duties for the welfare of the citizens.
During the meeting, they discussed current health care problems. The Pontiff stressed the need to increase availability of medical services for the disadvantaged and vulnerable groups of society.
