05.05.2026
On May 5, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received the seven newly ordained priests who had been granted the priestly rank on May 3, the Feast of the Apparition of the Holy Cross. They were accompanied by His Eminence Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisian, Director of the Department of External Relations and Protocol of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
During the meeting, Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisian presented the newly ordained clergy, requesting His Holiness’s blessing and paternal exhortation for them.
The Catholicos of All Armenians congratulated the priests on their calling to pastoral service, imparting to them his fatherly word and blessing.
His Holiness, speaking on the calling and mission of the priesthood, emphasized the importance of responsible and selfless service for the flourishing of the Church and the well-being of the Homeland.
The Supreme Patriarch urged the young clergymen to be zealous and steadfast in their ministry, to overcome all trials and difficulties with spiritual strength and courage, and to serve as a good example to the faithful through unconditional love, self-sacrifice, and devotion to the Homeland, the Church, and the people—thereby strengthening the life of the community and upholding the good name of the Church.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Holiness blessed the priests with the “Guardian” prayer and presented them with copies of the liturgical book Mashtots.
