Supreme Spiritual Council Meeting Commences at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin 15.09.2026

On September 15, the Supreme Spiritual Council's regular meeting began at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.

The meeting opened with the Lord’s Prayer, following which the Catholicos of All Armenians conveyed his blessing and good wishes to the clergy and lay members of the Supreme Spiritual Council, expressing his appreciation to the heads of the Hierarchical Sees for delegating their representatives to the meeting.

His Holiness, expressing his appreciation for the fruitful service rendered by the members of the Supreme Spiritual Council to the Holy Church, prayed for the Holy Spirit's guidance for the meeting's successful and fruitful course.

The four-day meeting’s agenda includes matters concerning the Church's canonical and diocesan life, its bylaws, the activities of the spiritual and educational institutions of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, and the strengthening of Christian education in communities.

The meeting will also address issues arising in Church-State relations, criminal proceedings, and 23 court cases involving the Church and clergy, as well as other matters related to making the Church’s mission more effective.
