Catholicos of All Armenians Sends Condolences on the Passing of Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia

His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, on behalf of the Supreme Spiritual Council of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, the Monastic Clergy of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, and the faithful people, has sent a message of condolence on the occasion of the passing of His Holiness Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia.
“The many years of pastoral ministry of His Holiness Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II bore witness to the steadfastness of faith and devoted spiritual leadership. His patriarchate was marked by a revival of spiritual life in Georgia, as well as by the strengthening and revitalization of church life. In difficult times, the ever-memorable Patriarch guided his faithful flock with fatherly wisdom and love, steadfastly preserving the mission of the Georgian Holy Church,” the message of condolence from the Catholicos of All Armenians states.
His Holiness prayed to the Almighty Lord to grant consolation to the clergy of the Georgian Orthodox Church and to the grieving Georgian people, expressing the hope that the memory of His Holiness may always remain vivid in the hearts of his faithful children and serve as a source of inspiration for future generations.
