His Holiness Karekin II Defrocks Rev. Fr. Hovhannes Sahakyan and Rev. Fr. Hayrik Hovhannisyan

Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued a Pontifical Order whereby Rev. Fr. Hovhannes Sahakyan and Rev. Fr. Hayrik Hovhannisyan have been defrocked for willfully deserting their spiritual services.
As of this day, the defrocked clergymen are members of the laity and shall be known by their baptismal names Vardges Sahakyan and Hovik Hovhannisyan.
