His Holiness Karekin II Receives Graduates of Armenian Schools of Argentina
On August 6, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin the graduates of the St. Gregory the Illuminator and Derdzakian (Colegio Derdzakian) secondary schools, as well as the Artsruni National School and the AGBU Marie Manoogian National School of the Armenian Diocese of Argentina.
Conveying His paternal blessing and love to the young Armenians who had arrived from Argentina, His Holiness congratulated them on completing an important stage of their education. He noted with satisfaction that the mission of Armenian national educational institutions within community life greatly contributes to preserving Armenian identity and to shaping the national and spiritual character of the younger generation.
His Holiness also remarked that visits by young members of the Armenian Diaspora to Armenia have become a cherished tradition. These visits provide young people with the opportunity to become better acquainted with their homeland and, through various educational visits, to connect with its historical past and rich heritage.
Reflecting on the role and mission of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness emphasized that Armenians throughout the world draw strength and spiritual support from Holy Etchmiadzin and their native land.
During the meeting, His Holiness also expressed His appreciation to the school trustees, administrators, and teachers for their devoted service to the cause of Armenian education and the upbringing of their students.
In conclusion, the Catholicos of All Armenians encouraged the graduates to return to their communities inspired by their visit to the homeland and spiritually strengthened, following the example of their forefathers by remaining faithful to their nation and the Holy Church, working tirelessly to strengthen the Armenian community in Argentina, and preserving their national identity and spirit.
