Catholicos of All Armenians Welcomes Participants of Conference Commemorating 1700th Anniversary of First Council of Nicaea

On September 4, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin the representatives of Christian Churches and inter-church organizations participating in the Interchurch Conference entitled “Living the Creed Today: Commemorating the 1700th Anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea”, being held at the Mother See from September 4 to 7.
In his address, His Holiness emphasized the importance of this interchurch gathering, which provides an opportunity to discuss the challenges facing the Churches, to deepen cooperation in various fields, and to take steps toward strengthening the spirit of brotherhood.
The Archpastor of the Armenian Church noted with satisfaction that warm relations exist between the Armenian Church, the sister churches, various denominations, and interchurch organizations.
During the meeting, His Holiness also expressed his gratitude to the heads of Churches and spiritual leaders for the support and solidarity shown to Armenia and the Armenian people in difficult times.
During the conversation, the Catholicos of All Armenians responded to the participants’ questions concerning interchurch relations.
